Windy in Paris

It was so bloody windy in Paris today. Who knows what was going on but the street I live in is a complete mess. There are branches all over the road and footpaths as well as rubbish.

I left the apartment in this afternoon in the hope of buying some Lebanese food from my favourite Lebanese supermarket in the 15th and then heading to Parc Andre Citroen to enjoy my meal with a nice drink to finish it off. I got my food without any dilemma but on arriving at the Parc I found it was closed due to the wind. It was too dangerous they said. This was quite possibly true as I’ve seen at least 10 fallen trees today, broken at the base. It must have been extremely windy. No kidding.

So I sat and ate in the little parc next door, watching old men play petanque who were being watched by their old dogs. No I don’t mean their wives but actual dogs. They were all on their last legs. I planned to walk home but with the weather being as it was I decided against it and went home and ate some more.

I’m on a strict diet at the moment but am allowed one day off per week to eat whatever I like. Today was that day. So I’ve eaten a little chocolate, some fruit (which is not allowed on the diet), a number of (I won’t say how many) kourebiedes (sp?), Lebanese meze, and hot chips. Yep, I sure got enough calories today. The next 6 days will be different. It’ll be 3-4 meals, each consisting of protein, vegetables, and lentils. Except that I don’t like lentils and beans so I’ll probably just eat eggs and veges or chicken and veges or lamb and veges. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no potato, no sugar. The diet is good in that I’m not hungry but I still want to eat, just for the hell of it. I’ve lost 1.5 kilos in my first week and I’ll be very happy if I can continue with that.

It’s 8:30pm so I probably won’t eat anything else today. I go to bed at around 2am so I might have another piece of fruit later but that would be all.

I will try to use this blog to give updates on my diet so I can see how I’m going and if it works in the long run.
